I'm having dinner with Ross Brawn at Silverstone.

This weekend I am going for dinner at Silverstone with F1 team principal Ross Brawn and whilst I am a girl so therefore not hugely into motorsport I am quite excited by this event.

Ross Brawn who is currently team principal of Mercedes and has led Benetton and Ferrari to the championship in the past will be the guest speaker and from what I have seen of him on the television I imagine he will make an interesting presentation.

This event is being organised by a good friend of ours and is a charity evening to raise money for Little Havens Children's Hospice in Essex. The hospice provides excellent respite care for children who are not expected to reach adulthood due to a life threatening condition.

Michael Hipperson who has organised this event for Lotus Elise owners, is well known in motorsport circles and has raised thousands of pounds for Little Havens through his 'Elise Garden Party' events.

The evening will consist of a champagne reception, dinner, an auction hosted by Martin Donnelly and the presentation by Ross Brawn. There are just 160 people attending the event and at a recent event which was hosted by Andy Green OBE, the world land speed record holder there was plenty of opportunity to get up close and ask questions. Recent events have raised in excess of £20,000 so lets hope we can do the same this year.
