Rounding the week off on the Shotover Jet

It was a gorgeous day in Queenstown today and the waters had subsided allowing the jet boats to operate on the Shotover river. Jet boats are designed to work on just 4 inches of water so are suitable for New Zealands braided rivers.

They hurtle through the canyon at up to 85km/hr and the driver takes you as close to the over hanging rocks as possible and throws in several 360 spins for the ultimate thrill ride.

This was a fantastic way to end my amazing week in New Zealand. I have done so many things and been really well spoilt and really don't want to leave. The scenery is stunning, the people friendly and the wine crisp. I am definitely going to come back.

But for now I am going to sit back, watch the Hobbit movies on the flight and relive the memories on my long journey home.

I'll leave you with a picture of Queenstown in the sunshine today.
